EU-XCEL 2016

EU-XCEL is a Horizon 2020 initiative and part of Start-Up Europe aimed at incentivising and enabling youth entrepreneurship across the information, communication and technology (ICT) sectors. After the success of the first edition, we received more than 420 applications for the 2016 edition from Europe’s top young tech talent, all with a keen interest and energy for converting great technology ideas into new tech start-ups of major potential. The standard of applications was exceptionally high but following careful review and evaluation, our EU-XCEL teams across Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Poland and Spain selected the most promising and talented aspiring entrepreneurs for the 2016 EU-XCEL European Virtual Accelerator Programme.

During the week from 8 to 13 May was held the ‘Start-up Scrum’ at the Escuela de Ingeniería Industrial at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. During that week, 34 students and graduates of technical and economic branches 9 European countries receive specific training in entrepreneurship, creation and evaluation of business ideas, business plan development, Internet of Things and work in virtual teams. Their goal: to create a European team work and develop for 3 months their business idea to finally convince investors that your idea worth being funded.
