During the week from 8 to 13 May was held the ‘Start-up Scrum’ at the Escuela de Ingeniería Industrial at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. During that week, 34 students and graduates of technical and economic branches 9 European countries receive specific training in entrepreneurship, creation and evaluation of business ideas, business plan development, Internet of Things and work in virtual teams. Their goal: to create a European team work and develop for 3 months their business idea to finally convince investors that your idea worth being funded.

Team “WEC: Wellness Ecosystem in the Cloud”

Members: Magdalena Szykor (Poland), Christina Kalantzi (Italy), Carlos Garcia Mendez (Spain), Javier Augusto Zambrano Macias (Spain), Patrick O’Toole (Ireland)

Idea: WEC is an app working both as a platform where users can find health and fitness professionals and as an e-health and e-fitness assistant for every user, providing health monitoring, fitness tracking and everyday tips for the user’s overall wellbeing.

Team “VRL: Virtual Reality Languages”

Members: Daniel Ricardo Gonçalo (Germany), Christopher Kottis (Greece), Antonios Georgantas (Greece), Ivan Cholakov (Bulgaria), Georgios Triantafyllou (Greece)

Idea: develop a Virtual Reality application that help learning new languages, especially those that make heavy use of pictograms, like Chinese.

Team “Mahoo”

Members: Tomasz Naprawski (Poland), Anna Pilarczyk (Poland), Padraig O’Shea (Ireland), Alfonso Amayuelas Fernández (Spain)

Idea: Develop an APP to help junkyards in doing inventory management and online shopping.

Team “Sproutify”

Members: Roisin Fox (Ireland), Vadym Yatsyuk (Germany), Josef Suess (Germnay), Kristoffer Rønn-Andersen (Denmark), Frederik Østergaard Neble (Denmark), Emmanuel Uman-Ntuk (Poland)

Idea: develop intelligent pots for growing vegetables in urban gardening. The pots will have a small design and will integrate electronic devices for monitoring the plant.

Team “Project-project”

Members: Thomas Klemm (Germany), Shaun Sweeney (Ireland), Darragh Meaney (Ireland), Nina Wiegers (Germany), Federica Fulghesu (Italy)

Idea: platform for linking professionals interested in developing projects in a very flexible way.

Team “BeWell”

Members: Eleni Veli (Greece), Vanesa Argüelles Ruipérez (Spain), Natalia Rizzi (Italy), Ruxanda Plesca (Italy), Vasileios-Apostolos Ouranis (Greece)

Idea: platform for managing health tourism, offering both the treatment in hospitals, accommodation and travel.

Team “SmartAD”

Members: Rola Majed Ismail (Denmark), Monika Zielińska (Poland)

Idea: make better ads campaigns by using geo-location in cars, taxis, buses, etc.
